Demographic Impact and Modeling

The Demographic Impact feature helps you determine your future health service demand using a variety of sources of information. Depending on your needs, five or more databases are used and combined to make several different forecasts. One is the projection for the surrounding community and the second forecast is for your catchment area. The software has been specifically designed to deal with the situation where there is more than one healthcare provider within a community or region.

The output of this analysis is a series of graphs, tables and information that can be tailored to your specific needs, programs, services or clinical categories. The projections allow you to determine precisely what your institution will need to look like in the coming years to accommodate demographic change by program, service or other user defined grouping. Information is made available to you at a program, doctor service or at the individual diagnosis level.

Physician Impact

Recruiting a new Physician can be a challenging process. There are many factors which need to be considered before you make a decision on which Physician to recruit. The following questions are answered by the Physician Impact component of our system; What will be the impact on beds, O.R. time, costs, and other resources if we hire this Physician versus another Physician? Will it make a difference if we recruit a younger Physician verses an older one?

The Physician Impact will show the impact of the new Physician on physical and financial resources.

If you do not know the Physician’s profile, you can choose a profile of one or several of your existing Physicians to create an average profile for the new Physician. You can also choose from the many profiles provided with the Physician Impact feature. We have developed typical case mix profiles for Physicians by service that can be used and modified to best match the patient profile of the Physician you are recruiting.

Modify Workload Impact

Allows you to modify your hospital workload by service, program or case mix group. What if you decide to cap a particular program or you have been asked to absorb a program from a local hospital where volumes are declining. Modifying your workload with Clinsaver+ is easy.

If you are adding a new program and you can obtain the electronic file from the other hospital and simply load it into the Modify Workload feature. The program does the rest!

The Modify Workload feature can help if you decide to cap a particular program or case. Using the Modify Workload feature, all you have to do is enter the percentage increase/decrease by service, program or even by case mix group and the Modify Workload feature will change your workload accordingly. The result is that you can see the impact on physical and financial resources of this change.
